Rendered with a mischievous gravity, this surreal tableau presents a lanky, marionette-like figure balancing on improbably thin stilts, its purple torso and flamenco-red legs punctuated by polka-dotted undergarments. A hat-wearing, cigarette-clenched face registers bemused fatigue, while an apple-laden head, sprouting branches like a private orchard, dangles as a precarious counterweight. An orange, horned orb on string tugs at the right, introducing a playful antagonism. Against a lacquered black sky streaked with sanguine smears, the saturated palette and precise highlights create theatrical depth. The work nods to surrealist conjuring and a Dadaist sense of wit, fusing dream logic with a quietly sardonic humor.
