An elegant absurdity unfolds in this surreal procession, where baroque ruff and childlike limbs meet carnival grotesques. The central figure, pale and wide-eyed, bears horns that sprout like brass instruments from an Afro, while a tiny skeleton clings like a mischievous thought. Behind, a rotund trumpeter strides on spidery legs, blowing a silvery cone that seems to push time forward. The warm ochres and siennas create a dusk atmosphere, punctuated by bold splashes of red and cobalt that animate the foreground. Silhouetted horizons, distant eruptions and minuscule animals deepen the plane, producing a melancholic, comic choreography that feels both intimate and dreamlike.
