The Prismatic Chamber

The Prismatic Chamber

Marcin Semik , 2025

50×50 cm

Acrylic on canvas

Behold a composition where geometry meets delirium—“The Prismatic Chamber” is a dizzying orchestration of texture and tension, color and collision. Executed in impasto oil with surgical precision and a touch of wild abandon, this work invites the eye to spiral inward through a kaleidoscope of gridded emeralds and aquamarines, punctuated by a centrifugal barrage of obsidian-black spikes, some licked with arterial reds and pyric oranges.

The spatial dynamic is masterful—an illusionistic deep field carved out of rigid linearity, then skewered by aggressive diagonals. It evokes the psychological vortex of Abstract Expressionism with the structural rigor of Op Art, perhaps echoing the spiritual intensity of Malevich or the vibrating latticeworks of Vasarely. And there—almost cheekily centered—is a crimson glyph, as if a lone heart beats within this crystal labyrinth.

The palette swings from cool to scorching, balancing serenity with threat, calculation with chaos. One could read this as an aerial map of emotion, a cathedral of circuitry, or simply as a fantastical optical trap. Either way, it compels contemplation—and commands attention. A magnetic centerpiece for any serious collector of postmodern abstraction.

Shall we begin the bidding?
