Artur Płachta , 2026

40×60 cm

Oil on canvas

Rendered in buoyant impasto and playful draftsmanship, this canvas stages a whimsical parade of mechanical romance. A striped chauffeur in a top hat pilots a vintage contraption, its polished chassis echoing the zeppelin drifting above, while a jester-like passenger, suspended between seat and sky, extends a jaunty salute. The palette balances warm corals and ochres with electric cobalt and lilac, yielding rich contrasts and layered atmospheric depth. Broad, visible brushstrokes and ornamental detail recall folk painting and surrealist storytelling, the composition moving left to right like a slow, delightful procession. The work delights, inviting a private smile while rewarding close inspection.
